Dinamo Brest vs Shakhtyor Soligorsk predictions & betting tips for this interesting Wednesday’s Belarus Cup semi-final clash. Dinamo Brest will be keen to progress to the final but can they bounce back following a disappointing defeat in the league? Read below our free Belarus Cup betting tips and predictions.
Shaky start of the season for defending champions
Dinamo Brest are the current Belarus Champions and would have hoped for a better start to their new season. After drawing the opening match against newly-promoted side Smolevichi-STI (1-1), they were able to get a narrow away win (0-1) against Slutsk. In the last weekend, though, they delivered a poor performance and suffered a truly unexpected home defeat against Slavia Mozyr (1-2). Surely they will be keen to make amends immediately, and they have the opportunity to do so in this semi-final which will be played again at their Regional Sport Complex Brestskiy. Kovalchuk’s men were truly impressive in the last campaign in front of their fans, and despite a slightly shaky start, they are expected to find consistency again as soon as they find the right fitness.
Shakhtyor Soligorsk looking to cause an upset
Differently from the defending champions, Shakhtyor Soligorsk have had a start to their campaign which is broadly in line with expectations. They have won one, draw one and lost one and are sitting in mid-table at the moment. After conceding a home defeat in the opening round Torpedo Zhodino, they went on to win away against Gorodeya (0-2), and in the last weekend, they were held to a draw by Neman Grodno (0-0). Despite in the last match they weren’t particularly impressive in front of goal, they showed once again an excellent solidity at the back. Vernydub’s men have now achieved two clean sheets in three games, and have only conceded a single goal to date in the league.
