Correct Score Double Tips | A Pair of Draws in the Champions League Qualifiers!
Hi all. Sadly, we did not make it count in the previous correct score longshot. The BT4Y crew got close in the reverse fixture of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie between Rosenborg and BATE. We predicted Rosenborg’s 2-1 home win, but the Belarusian side failed to find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss on the Norwegian soil.
The second bet was Red Star Belgrade to dispatch HJK, but the Finnish champions claimed a consolation victory beating Serbian rivals 2-1 in Helsinki. Red Star advanced thanks to a 2-0 win in the first leg in Belgrade.
We’ll stay in the same competition, this time chasing two 1-1 draws in the third round qualifiers. Here are the bets:
#1 Krasnodar v Porto
Krasnodar will make their Champions League debut on Wednesday evening when they play host to Portuguese powerhouse Porto in the first leg of the third qualifying round. This was probably one of the toughest draws for the Russian Premier League runners-up given they are about to tackle last term quarter-finalists.
Porto enjoyed a superb run win five wins and a draw in six group stage games last season. They eliminated 2017/18 semi-finalists Roma in the last 16 round but only to be stopped by latter winners Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
Krasnodar will enter this match high on confidence following a streak of two wins and a draw in last three Premier League games. They held reigning champions Zenit to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon.
We believe the draw is the most likable of three outcomes here.
The first pick is a 1-1 draw at the odds of 5/1!
#2 Istanbul Basaksehir v Olympiakos Piraeus
Neither Istanbul nor Olympiakos have been in action in their domestic leagues this summer. Turkish runners-up made it to the Champions League qualifications for the second time, following an unsuccessful 2017/18 campaign when they were eliminated in play-offs to Sevilla. They’ve previously gone past Club Brugge 5-3 on aggregate proving to have what it takes to stay competitive at this level.
Olympiakos had to start this term from the second qualifying round, but they showed strength easing past Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen 4-0 on aggregate thanks to a demolishing victory in the return clash on the home patch. Greek heavyweights failed to make it to the Champions League last season as well, but they did feature the group stage two years ago.
We feel there will be little to separate these two likes on Wednesday in Istanbul.
The second pick is a 1-1 draw at the 5/1 odds!
