Coral Cup History
There are normally lots of competitors that are taking part in the Coral Cup. The race is over a distance of 2 miles and 5 furlongs, and there are ten hurdles to overcome. Horses that are four and over can compete in what is a Grace 3 race that has a prize pot of £75,000.
Different trainers have been able to succeed in the Coral Cup in recent times, but it is Martin Pipe who is dominating this race with three wins. He also won on the 1993 inaugural race. As far as jockeys are concerned, it is Barry Geraghty who is leading the way with two wins, one of which was on board of Spirit River in 2010.
