Reason For This Tip
There is plenty of pace in the Champion Hurdle this year with Goshen and Not So Sleepy wanting to go from the front and I think that will work out perfectly for Honeysuckle. The Henry De Bromhead trained mare is a dual winner of the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle over 2m4f and also won the Mares’ Hurdle over 2m4f at the festival last season when defeating the hotpot Benie Des Dieux.
Many questioned her speed for the 2 mile trip but she proved last time in the Irish Champion Hurdle that she has such a high cruising speed that can get horses like Abacadabras and Sharjah out of their comfort zones before a turn of foot can catch her out.
Rachel Blackmore will have to get her tactics spot on in the race, with Goshen likely to be in front of her and Epatante stalking behind her, but I think she can make it 11/11 under rules and 12/12 in her career so far.
