£20 bet returns £1,620 with Betvictor

Main Bet: Joakim Lagergren

As we have seen in previous instances where the European Tour have remained in the same location for two weeks in a row, it makes sense to look at those players that have done well in the previous event. Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren has won the 2018 Sicilian Open and surely looks capable of adding more silverware soon.

Although he hasn’t been remarkably consistent, he has shown to enjoy windy conditions by the sea, so he shouldn’t have problems with the breeze expected this week. When he won in Sicily, he was on a course by the ocean that looks similar to the one of this week. Recently he also secured a third place at the Portugal Masters and was tied eight at the Golf in Dubai Championship.

Last week he finished tied 18th, and it was clear that his putter warmed up when reaching the weekend. He ranked fifth for Strokes Gained Putting in the third round and also in the final lap. This could be his week, so looks extremely valuable at this price.

De Jager (Each-Way) To Win

£20 bet returns £620 with Betvictor

Each Way Bet: Louis De Jager

Can we see a South African hat trick at the Canary Island Swing? It might well be. Louis De Jager has won five-time on his home circuit but has struggled to win on the European Tour. In 2019 he finished tied fourth at Heritage in the Mauritius Open, which has many resemblances to the Adeje in both design and sea breezes. Last summer, he was in contention in the UK Swing, Italy ad Cyprus. His form in 2021 has also been positive as he has made five of six cuts and was also tied 12th last week. He will need to up his putting game, but that is undoubtedly something that he can, and backing him each-way looks like an interesting proposition at this high price.
