Red Star Belgrade v Young Boys Bern – UEFA Champions League Playoffs
27th August 2019 – 20:00
Match Preview and Betting Tips
We are about to find out which six teams are going to join the others in the UEFA Champions League group stages. One of the most interesting clashes played last week took place in the Swiss capital Bern. The champions Young Boys took on Red Star Belgrade, and it was a match full of twists and great moves. Both sides had the lead at some point, with the match eventually ending without a winner 2-2 FT. Of course, the Serbian side can be more happy with the final outcome, as any low scoring draw or home win means they will reach the group stages and get a huge financial injection for the second year in the row.
They were nowhere close to the form presented in the previous season though. Last time Red Star Belgrade crushed everyone except Red Bull Salzburg in the last round. They even caused a big upset and defeated Liverpool FC in front of the home crowd 2-0. So far their qualifiers journey saw some really poor performances like against Suduva or Helsinki JK. The odds are still on their side to advance through.
Young Boys are dominating the domestic scene for years now. They humiliated and demolished Basel, the same team which eliminated PSV. Their attacking trio is very lethal, and one sign of poor defending can be enough to do damage. It’s been a while since this team kept two consecutive clean sheets though.
Our bet of the day is going to be Both teams to score at 3/5 rate.
