After a disappointing Sunday of tipping, Steve Ryder previews three races on Monday 5th March. P&L +28.16pts.
3:00 Kempton- Far Cry 7/2 (1pt)
Far Cry made her debut in an AW Lingfield bumper at the end of January in a race where Simonia was sent off 11/10 favourite. Far Cry was a 14/1 shot that day and finished 3rd but faired better than Simonia who could only finish 6th. Far Cry was giving her 3lb that day and gets to race off level weights in this race but somehow Simonia is favourite for this race instead of Far Cry.
6:45 Wolverhampton- Etaad 11/1 (2pt ew)
Etaad ran a hugely eyecatching race over C&D 7 days ago when finishing 4th at 25/1. He was held up in rear but then didn’t get a clear run 1f out and finished well to finish closest at the end of the race. Amazingly he has been dropped 4lb for that run meaning he is now rated 47, the lowest rating of his career, and he looks well worth chancing at a double figure price. His career victories have been off handicap marks of 49, 52,59, 65 and 62 so he is chucked in if back to form and his last run implies that he is.
7:45 Wolverhampton- Port Douglas 14/1 (0.5pt ew)
Port Douglas was a high class horse for Aidan O’Brien with a victory in a Group 2 at 2 and finishing second in the Group 3 Chester Vase. He finished his 3 year old year with a rating of 111 before running over in Singapore for new connections. He was running at distances of around a mile out there which would be well short of his optimum and he is of huge interest back in the UK over 1m4f. He runs in this handicap off a mark of 100 and if he is primed and ready to go then he should have a huge chance.
